New Rules... For an increasing number of men and  women, it is no longer possible or even desirable to withdraw behind the  gender role models we learned from previous generations. Neither is it possible to find  safe ground exclusively championing the cause of either women's or men's rights. In short,  chauvinism is no more effective than sexism and the quest for sameness no more  constructive than the inclination to blame or play victim. As a result, this dramatic  shift has brought serious challenges and turmoil to the workplace.

Is There Another Choice? Plainly habitual patterns, unexamined perceptions and  reactive behaviors do not work. Good intentions are not enough, either. Some important  questions are raised when companies and individuals are asked to take a look at the issues  around men and women in the work place: How do men and women succeed  in today's complex work environment? Can we discover more  appropriate rules and a deeper understanding of each other? Can we do more than give lip service to our desire to honor  our differences and move beyond fear to a place of greater honesty and caring? Continue...
