Introduction for Participants
|
If you are like most people in most industries today, at this very moment you are probably in the thick of it. Daily
pulls and pressures at work competing with the obligations and demands from your personal world. The urgent fire-fighting of meetings and deadlines in conflict with your desire to take time to
plan, to think, to prepare and to catch your breath long enough to do the kind of work you can be proud of.
We know this push and pull is a part of 'life'. At the same time we know that in most of our lives there are a number of days when this kind of pressure can
feel a little overwhelming. In fact, at such times it's easy to forget some of the lessons learned and the promises we make to ourselves and to our
colleagues to do things differently and better. At such times it is also easy to get caught up in old habits and less than effective ways of doing things.
Having been at this business of organizational and personal change for a number of years we know how natural this kind of 'slippage' can be. We also
know, however, that you are committed to making your contribution to your team the best it can be. To respond to this commitment, we have
developed this practical, easy to use guide to help you practice and integrate some new skills and lessons that can help you to not only
achieve your goals, but to exceed them by as much as 10% to 15%. |
A Powerful & Practical Way To Achieve Greater Excellence Time Is Money is made up
of a series of 15 Lessons. Each lesson will allow you to focus on a specific topic for a period of two weeks. And each topic is highly relevant to . Each lesson will begin with a short
introduction on a practical and highly relevant theme. It will also include a set of recommended exercises that will help you integrate and practice each new skill.
Many of these exercises will involve observing yourself and other team
members as you go about your daily work. We encourage you to pay special attention to these observation exercises because we have found that becoming more aware is the first and
most important step in the change process. Other exercises will involve your answering questions or executing a specific set of
actions designed to assist you to learn to manage your self and others more effectively.
Each lesson will also include a variety of quotes, stories and some
stimulating perspectives that will assist you in viewing your performance through new eyes. Each of these lessons will be
delivered to you electronically during each two week period. They are designed as reminders, keeping the topic fresh and you on track in
making new skills/competencies a natural part of your daily work environment.

A Valuable Support/Resource Network As part of this program, we will also encourage you to pick a 'buddy' and to form a small 'resource
group' (three or four members of your team with whom you work on a regular basis). These buddies and resource groups will give you the chance to debrief your experience, give and receive valuable
encouragement and acknowledgment, and capture and share lessons learned.
Our experience has shown that this buddy and resource system is a valuable part of the program. In fact, people who have taken our
suggestions to heart have found that this aspect of the 30 Week Program assists them to deepen personal friendships, learn valuable insights, and gain both the courage and
motivation to go beyond the usual resistances and blocks that sometimes impede the progress of those who try to execute a change process by themselves.

Your
Personal Leadership Challenge
As a
complement to the 15 individual lessons, this 30 Week
Personal Productivity & Skills Development Program also
includes a special personal Leadership Challenge Process.
This special process provides you with the opportunity to
work on an important professional development challenge which,
when set in motion and successfully completed, will
empower, encourage and energize you to new levels of personal
excellence and performance both inside and outside the workplace.
You will find more detail on this and other aspects of the
program in each of the lessons. In the meantime, we
invite you to pay attention to a few suggestions that have
assisted others in getting the most from their participation
in this program.
